Two goats break into vacant house and are rescued after floor collapse

Late Friday evening, a farmer alerted authorities that two goats had broken into an unoccupied house on Nord-Tretten, close to Fåvang. The floor in one room could not support the weight of the animals, causing it to collapse and sending one goat down into the cellar while the second remained stuck in the kitchen. The Lillehammer region fire department responded, sawing through floorboards, walls, and even the exterior wall to create space for their equipment.

Using a winch, they lifted the goat from the basement and later removed the other from the kitchen. According to the fire chief, both goats were calm and in good condition after the rescue. The incident highlights the challenges of animal intrusions in rural properties.
