Two Hartford officers wounded and suspect killed after 11 p.m. chase in Newington

Late Friday night, around 11 p.m., Hartford police were probing illegal activity near the West Boulevard Historic District when they attempted to arrest an unnamed suspect who seemed to be carrying a weapon. The suspect escaped in a car, prompting a high-speed pursuit that moved through Hartford and concluded on Webster Court in Newington. During the confrontation, bullets were fired, resulting in injuries to two officers and the suspect being declared dead at the scene.

Lieutenant Aaron Boisvert confirmed a firearm was retrieved from the area. Both officers were transported to a medical facility and are reported to be in stable condition, though details of their injuries have not been released.
