Two Hungarian soldiers die in separate incidents, one by suicide and one after a training illness
Hungary's defence minister announced that two soldiers died while on duty, one a 20-year-old who took his own life and another a 41-year-old who fell ill during training and died in hospital.
Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi said the fatalities occurred within days of each other. The younger soldier, 20, ended his life on his own initiative, while the older, 41, became seriously ill while training and passed away the following day. No health or psychological issues had been identified in either case, and an investigation into the circumstances is underway. The minister expressed condolences and reminded the public of free crisis-helpline numbers.
