Two Indonesian nationals recover after being wounded in Riyadh airport attack

Indonesia’s foreign ministry confirmed that two Indonesian citizens injured in the recent King Khalid International Airport attack have been treated and released.

Indonesia’s Ministry of one outlet reported that two Indonesian citizens were among those injured in the attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on October 11. The individuals, RM, 45, and ET, 32, both permanent residents, suffered minor injuries and were treated at Sulaiman Habib Hospital before being allowed to return home the same day. Heni Hamidah, director for citizen protection, noted that the victims are not Umrah pilgrims.

The Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh worked closely with Saudi authorities, the Saudi foreign ministry, and the Indonesian National Nurses Association to assess security and provide assistance, including to three migrant workers affected by flight disruptions. Recent attacks on the airport have been linked to Yemen’s Houthi group, which has caused multiple casualties in the region.
