Two killed and two seriously hurt in early-morning Christchurch incident
Police say two people died and two others were seriously injured during a serious incident on Olliviers Road in Christchurch, with two additional suspects taken into custody.
Detective Inspector Nicola Reeves confirmed that police were called to a residence on Olliviers Road in Phillipstown, Christchurch, shortly after 12.50 am following a serious incident. Emergency crews arrived, and two people were found dead at the location. Two additional victims were transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Police also took two persons into custody to aid the investigation. A homicide inquiry has been launched, and authorities say no further suspects are being sought. Residents reported a large police and ambulance presence and heard significant noise around 1 am. Police urged anyone with information or CCTV footage to contact them via the provided hotline.
