A U.S. Army AH-64 Apache assigned to Fort Hood crashed into a field near Salado, Texas, on Wednesday afternoon, killing the two people aboard. Bell County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Bill Coleman said the wreckage caused a wildfire that remained out of control by about 3:30 p.m. The aircraft did not impact any residences or other structures.
