Two legislators injured in Delhi crash after car breaches divider at ITO

A car smashed through a divider at the ITO signal in Delhi, colliding with an SUV and injuring several people, including two MLAs.

Delhi police reported that a Swift heading from Laxmi Nagar toward ITO breached a divider near the PWD office at about 9:30 p.m., crossing into oncoming traffic and hitting an Innova coming from ITO toward Laxmi Nagar. The Swift, driven by 32-year-old Ashutosh Pandey, was carrying his wife and two minor children. Inside the Innova were sitting MLA Anil Jha of the Kirari constituency and Karnataka MLA Abhay Patil.

The crash caused minor injuries to all occupants, who were transported to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital and are in stable condition. The collision heavily damaged the front of the SUV. Fire-brigade personnel were dispatched to remove the vehicles and restore flow at the busy ITO intersection.
