Two pilots killed when training plane crashes near Ganga Barrage in Kanpur

On Thursday afternoon, a twin-engine training plane crashed in a field near Natthupurwa village, close to the Ganga Barrage in Kanpur, resulting in the deaths of a trainee pilot and the instructor on board. Rescue teams were dispatched promptly to the site. Preliminary information points to a Tecnam P2006T operated by Garg Aviation, which maintains a single aircraft of this model in its Kanpur fleet, though the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has yet to verify the aircraft’s exact type and registration.

This tragedy occurs just two months after a separate incident at Garg Aviation’s Flying Training Organisation, where a woman cadet from New Delhi suffered lower-back injuries after being struck by a propeller during de-boarding. Both events highlight safety concerns at the local flight training facility.
