Two police officers killed while protecting polio team in Balochistan's Noshki

In Noshki, Balochistan, two police constables, Muhammad Yasir and Abdul Rauf, were killed as gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on a female polio vaccination team they were escorting. The health workers escaped injury, and the attackers left the scene carrying the officers' firearms. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed grief, called the act heinous, and pledged severe penalties for those responsible.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti demanded a report from the Home Department and stressed the need to protect anti-polio personnel. The provincial anti-polio campaign, which began Monday and aims to immunize 2.3 million children under five, has been temporarily suspended. No group has claimed responsibility, and investigations are ongoing.
