Two suspects arrested after fleeing police crash in Ampang

Police detained two men suspected of cable theft after their car slammed into a drain while evading a police chase in Ampang, Malaysia.

Around 5.53 am, residents reported a blue Perodua Aruz lacking registration plates parked on Jalan Watan 8 in Taman Sri Watan. ACP Khairul Anuar Khalid said police located the car and the driver attempted to flee, leading to a chase that concluded when the vehicle crashed into a nearby drain. The two men inside were arrested on suspicion of stealing cables. The case is being examined under Sections 186, 379, 431A and 124K of the Penal Code and Section 235 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. Viral videos later showed the arrests behind a row of shops. Police continue to investigate the alleged theft.
