Two teens killed in head-on crash near Moncton, driver arrested

A head-on collision on a Moncton road killed an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl, while the 25-year-old driver was hospitalized and later taken into custody.

Police say a vehicle carrying five occupants from Moncton crossed the centre line shortly before 7:30 p.m. and struck an SUV. The crash claimed the lives of an 18-year-old male passenger and a 16-year-old female passenger, both pronounced dead at the scene. The 25-year-old driver survived, was treated in hospital and was subsequently arrested. A 16-year-old boy from the same vehicle remains in critical condition, and a 14-year-old boy sustained minor injuries. All five occupants of the SUV, aged between 24 and 72, were treated for minor injuries.
