Two Unidentified Bodies Discovered in LA’s Dominguez Channel, One Believed Child

A golfer at the Victoria Golf Course found a decomposed girl's body in the Dominguez Channel, and a day later a man's body was recovered nearby; both victims remain unidentified.

Earlier this week, a golfer playing at the Victoria Golf Course in Carson reported spotting a severely decomposed body of a young girl floating in the Dominguez Channel, a 15.7-mile waterway in southern Los Angeles County. The child, estimated to be between six and twelve years old, weighed roughly 60 to 85 pounds and measured about 4-foot-4 to 4-foot-8, with brown eyes and short dark hair. A day later, staff at a nearby refinery discovered the body of a black male, aged 50 to 60, in the same channel but several miles away.

Both victims have not been identified and autopsies are scheduled to establish their causes of death. Sheriff’s Department officials emphasized that the only common factor is the location of the discoveries. Local resident John Hollaway, who regularly exercises near the channel, expressed shock at the findings. The investigations remain ongoing.
