Two unrelated human remains discovered within hours in Monterey County

On Saturday morning, Monterey County deputies and fire crews arrived at the 100 block of Struve Road in Moss Landing following a tip that a baby had been found, confirming the infant was dead. Shortly after, at 9:55 a.m., a county worker discovered what appeared to be human remains on Stage Road in Salinas, about 25 miles away, leading to another sheriff’s department response. Commander Andy Rosas told reporters the two incidents are not believed to be connected and that details on the condition of the remains remain scarce.

Both cases are under active investigation, with no public information on the victims' identities or ages. Authorities have appealed for tips from anyone with relevant knowledge and anticipate providing further updates by the following Monday. The discoveries follow recent unsettling findings in Fresno, where two adult bodies were located earlier in the week.
