Two Victorville teens die after their car is split in a high-speed crash

Sixteen-year-old Isabell DeLand and 17-year-old Maddalyn Dailey were killed when their Acura was struck by two speeding vehicles in Victorville, splitting their car in half.

Isabell DeLand, 16, and Maddalyn Dailey, 17, both from Victorville, lost their lives in a Friday night collision that tore their Acura TL in two. The vehicle was hit by a speeding Dodge Charger and a Chevrolet Camaro traveling above the 55-mph limit, according to the California Highway Patrol. One of the other drivers, now facing a manslaughter charge, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators; the second driver fled on foot, abandoning a minor passenger.

Police are actively seeking the fleeing driver, and the families have appealed for public assistance in identifying him. Relatives described the girls' final moments and expressed deep grief, noting plans for the future that were cut short. A fundraising effort has collected more than $30,000 to cover funeral and memorial expenses for both families.
