Two young Coomera Cutters players die by suicide within days

The Coomera Cutters rugby league club on the Gold Coast mourns the deaths of 13-year-old Treyvon Bradshaw and 12-year-old Kaiyah Kennedy, who each took their own lives within a few days of each other.

Coomera Cutters Rugby League, based on the Gold Coast, confirmed that 13-year-old Treyvon Bradshaw and 12-year-old Kaiyah Kennedy died by suicide within a short span, shocking the club and local community. The club’s spokesperson posted tributes and emphasized the rarity of such tragedies among its youth players. A call to action was issued, encouraging children and teammates to reach out to coaches, managers, or sideline parents if they feel alone.

Fundraising efforts online for the boys’ families have raised roughly $50,000 as of Tuesday morning. The announcement also listed Lifeline (13 11 14) and Beyond Blue (1300 224 636) as resources for mental-health support. The club pledged to listen and provide assistance to those struggling with darkness.
