Two young men hospitalized with serious injuries after suspected shooting in Melbourne's north
Police placed two men under guard at Royal Melbourne Hospital after they were found with possible gunshot wounds at a house on Kaniva Street, Dallas.
Around 8.20 am on Sunday, emergency crews were called to a home on Kaniva Street in the outer-north suburb of Dallas after reports of two men suffering serious injuries, likely from gunfire. The victims, a 22-year-old resident of Dallas and a 19-year-old from Craigieburn, were taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital where they are being treated for upper-body wounds and are held under police guard. Police indicated that the two individuals appear to know each other and that no third party was involved.
The incident comes shortly after a 42-year-old man with suspected organised-crime connections was shot dead in his Wollert home, an event captured on CCTV showing a suspect fleeing Gypsum Drive. Detectives are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
