Tyre residents endure daily bombings and displacement amid ongoing Israel-Lebanon conflict

Tyre, a historic coastal city in southern Lebanon, has been repeatedly targeted by Israeli bombings that shattered residential buildings and forced a mass evacuation in March, with a complete order in June. The city’s main spice shop, Halawani, now uses thick plastic for its windows after the original glass was destroyed, and the owner, Gazan Halawani, recounts losing 20 kilograms and living in constant fear. Although a brief cease-fire allowed some residents to return, the streets soon filled again while Israeli drones continue to patrol overhead.
