Tyson Fury Announces Joshua Bout Will Take Place at Madison Square Garden

Tyson Fury announced that his much-talked-about heavyweight fight against fellow Briton Anthony Joshua will be held at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden. The bout, regarded as one of the biggest in British boxing history, is slated for November after both athletes signed a contract facilitated by Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority. Fury shared his excitement on Instagram, describing the venue and the city as a "land of opportunity," which sparked criticism from fans who preferred a UK location such as Wembley Stadium.

The 38-year-old Fury, who returned to the ring after retiring in December 2024 following two losses to Oleksandr Usyk, previously defeated Polish challenger Mariusz Wach in a warm-up fight in Pattaya, Thailand. Earlier negotiations for the fight fell apart in 2021 and were later disrupted by a court order that forced Fury into a trilogy with Deontay Wilder.
