U.S. Army seeks suppliers to source scarce parts for Ukraine's Bradley vehicles
The U.S. Army issued a market survey to identify firms that can obtain or reproduce hard-to-find components for the M2A2 ODS-SA Bradley used by Ukraine.
The U.S. Army Contracting Command at Detroit Arsenal released a sources-sought notice to gauge industry capability to supply obsolete components for the M2A2 ODS-SA Bradley fighting vehicle deployed in Ukraine. Companies must show they can either immediately procure or develop a plan to source variant-specific parts, including turret drive control units, transmission modules, ammunition chutes, and specialized optics. The solicitation also seeks firms able to train Ukrainian maintenance crews and furnish the required equipment and tools.
The Army emphasizes the urgency of restoring vehicles to full mission-capable status to meet foreign-assistance obligations. The notice clarifies it is a market survey for information and planning, with no contracts awarded at this stage, though a sole-source extension may follow. Contractors are asked to detail their experience, capacity, and approach to managing the legacy supply chain.
Why it matters
Ensuring a steady flow of spare parts is critical for keeping Ukraine's Bradley fleet operational in the ongoing conflict.
