U.S. clears $5 billion sale of extended-range JDAMs and $750 million engine deal to Saudi Arabia
The U.S. State Department approved a potential $5 billion sale of Joint Direct Attack Munitions-Extend Range to Saudi Arabia, along with a $750 million offer for AGT-1500 engines.
Washington announced approval for Saudi Arabia to purchase extended-range JDAM precision bombs valued at about $5 billion. The deal lists Boeing as the primary contractor. In addition, a separate offer for AGT-1500 turbine engines, estimated at $750 million, was also cleared, with Honeywell identified as the main supplier. Both proposals are pending finalization with the Saudi government.
