Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the United States is willing to discuss shared artificial-intelligence risks with China during upcoming talks.

Bessent indicated that Washington wants to engage China on preventing common AI hazards and avoiding a split between the two nations' AI systems. He highlighted that the dialogue will address both open-source and closed-weight models.
