U2 unveils new album featuring posthumous Dolly Parton duet
U2 announced a new album titled ’Carnaval de Luz’ that includes a duet with the late Dolly Parton recorded shortly before her death.
U2 disclosed that their next studio release, named ’Carnaval de Luz’, will feature a track titled ’Torn’, which pairs Bono’s vocals with a final recording by Dolly Parton. The duet was laid down in June, despite Parton’s illness at the time, and she rose from bed to sing. Bono said the performance is deeply moving and difficult to listen to. The album’s reveal comes as the band approaches its 50-year milestone since forming in Dublin. U2, consisting of Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr., is celebrated for hits such as ’With or Without You’ and ’I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For’.
