UAE accuses Iran of striking two ADNOC tankers in the Strait of Hormuz
The United Arab Emirates says Iran targeted two Abu Dhabi National Oil Company vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, with no casualties reported.
On Thursday night, two vessels owned by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company were reportedly assaulted as they transited the Strait of Hormuz, according to statements from the UAE. The foreign ministry condemned the episode as a "hostile Iranian attack," accusing Iran's Revolutionary Guards of piracy and using the waterway as economic leverage. The state news agency WAM said the situation had been contained and confirmed that no one was injured.
Iran's foreign ministry and the IRGC have not responded publicly. This marks the second alleged Iranian strike on ADNOC assets within a week, coming amid heightened shipping disruptions since the February 28 U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran began. The strait, through which roughly one-fifth of global oil and LNG flows, remains a flashpoint for regional stability and energy markets.
