UAE AI firm showcases ultra-compress video tech to Saudi security market
Abu Dhabi-based Neurovia AI demonstrated software that can shrink video files by up to 95% to Saudi security agencies, aiming to win contracts for pilgrim-safety cameras.
Neurovia AI, an Abu Dhabi AI company recently purchased by Nasdaq-listed Robo.ai in a $100 million all-stock deal, is marketing a video-compression solution to Saudi security bodies. The algorithm can cut video file size by as much as 95%, easing storage costs and speeding analysis on extensive camera networks that monitor holy sites and public areas. The software is designed to keep footage on the client’s own infrastructure, including isolated networks, and to enable threat detection in milliseconds.
At the LEAP tech exhibition in Riyadh, Neurovia displayed a side-by-side comparison of raw and compressed video, which most attendees found indistinguishable. Company chief Khalifa Mohammed Alshehhi said the firm is courting ministries such as the military, border control, police and hopes to secure contracts for Mecca and Medina, though no agreement has been finalized yet.
