UAE and Germany sign dozens of memoranda on energy, AI and digital projects
During a state visit to Berlin, the United Arab Emirates and Germany signed 29 memoranda of intent covering more than nine billion euros in projects. The agreements include building data centres with roughly one gigawatt of capacity, cooperation on LNG, renewables and hydrogen, and expanded transport rights for Emirati airlines. A new strategic dialogue will institutionalise cooperation across defence, trade, energy and artificial intelligence. The deal was signed by UAE President Scheich Mohammed bin Sajed al‑Nahjan and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
