UAE Says Security Talks Are Handled Through Proper Channels Amid Warning Claim
The United Arab Emirates responded to inquiries about a reported pre-October 7 alert to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying security issues are discussed with appropriate partners.
According to a report, Mohammed bin Zayed called Netanyahu about ten days before the Oct. 7 Hamas assault and warned that leader Yahya Sinwar was planning a major operation. The UAE, when asked about the allegation, said that matters of security are dealt with through "relevant entities" in coordination with other states, without confirming the specific warning. The question originated from The National, which is owned by International Media Investments, a group linked to bin Zayed’s brother.
