UDMR pledges support for Luca Niculescu's cabinet and its programme

Kelemen Hunor, head of the Uniunea Democrată Maghiară din România, declared that the party will cast its votes for the government and programme presented by Luca Niculescu, irrespective of the cabinet's composition. He emphasized that UDMR will enter a support agreement with the prime-minister-designate, committing to back key legislative projects such as the budget amendment, salary legislation and the upcoming fiscal plan.

Hunor stressed that the agreement hinges on Niculescu’s willingness to consult the party on these issues. The stated goal is to break the ongoing political deadlock and allow Romania to have a fully functional government by the end of the week or early next week. The announcement follows more than five months of negotiations with all political forces.
