A FIFA spokesperson responded that the allegations are categorically untrue and defamatory, noting that no employee has ever lodged a complaint against Infantino.
UEFA, speaking to one outlet News, confirmed that a departure payment and educational fees were provided in line with the regulations that existed at the time, which have since been tightened. The federation emphasized that all such actions were approved by the appropriate directors and complied with applicable rules. Infantino served at UEFA from 2000 until his move to FIFA in 2016. One outlet News has sought further comment from FIFA.
