UEFA keeps FIFA boycott despite Infantino's reversed World Cup stake sale

UEFA announced that its 55 national associations remain committed to boycotting FIFA tournaments, asserting that the global governing body has not fulfilled the key requirements for re-engagement. The decision followed a unanimous vote to pull out of all FIFA events after President Gianni Infantino proposed selling minority interests in World Cups and other competitions, a plan he subsequently withdrew under pressure. UEFA clarified that the withdrawal of the proposal is only one of two conditions; the federation also demands assurances that such commercial attempts will never be repeated.

The organization emphasized that these stipulations have not been satisfied. Additionally, UEFA reiterated its loss of confidence in Infantino's presidency, stating that recent backing from FIFA staff tied to him does not alter its position.
