Infantino’s proposal to sell shares of FIFA competitions to private investment firms sparked a global backlash, with UEFA threatening to boycott FIFA events, including the World Cup.
CONCACAF also issued a statement criticizing FIFA’s leadership after Infantino abandoned the plan. The Welsh association emphasized that failing to prioritize football’s best interests is unacceptable.
