Jordan FA chief alleges FIFA used blackmail to sway his support

Prince Ali bin al-Hussein, president of the Jordan Football Association, used the social platform X to accuse FIFA of blackmail, saying the governing body linked financial relief to his endorsement of Gianni Infantino. He outlined several hardships faced by Jordan, such as difficulties obtaining U.S. visas for supporters, inflated ticket costs, and a tax levy imposed by the United States that diverted funds from players and staff.

The federation also claims the prize money owed for its Arab Cup final appearance in Qatar remains unpaid despite FIFA’s reported reserves. In his post, the prince asserted that FIFA officials suggested his support for Infantino would resolve these issues, which he rejected as unethical. The accusation arrives amid broader scrutiny of FIFA’s Forward Enterprise (FFE) plan, recently criticized by Arsène Wenger and highlighted in one outlet's report.
