UEFA has formally delivered a document preservation letter to FIFA, instructing the organization to keep all records that could be pertinent to a potential lawsuit over Gianni Infantino’s plan to sell minority stakes in World Cups and other events. The letter, which names 18 FIFA executives—including Arsène Wenger, now head of global football development—asks them not to delete or alter any related data. UEFA’s decision follows a unanimous vote to boycott FIFA unless the investment proposal is abandoned, a stance that has been echoed by CONCACAF and the AFC, while CAF remains undecided.

UEFA officials declined further comment, but a recent statement expressed a lack of trust in Infantino and called for rebuilding confidence in the sport’s governance. FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström hinted at internal instability, and the dispute comes as the organization prepares for the upcoming Under-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
