UK braces for possible Gen Z protests inspired by recent French unrest

AI-generated flyers are urging Gen Z demonstrations in London, Birmingham and Manchester over cost-of-living issues, prompting British officials to warn of unrest similar to recent French riots.

Artificial-intelligence-produced posters promoting a “Gen Z Protest” have begun circulating on social media, urging participants to gather in London on October 25, marching from Russell Square to Westminster, and to hold additional demonstrations in Birmingham and Manchester on November 7-8. The flyers list grievances such as the cost of living, rent, university fees and a weak job market. The campaign follows French anti-government protests that resulted in more than 2,500 arrests over the weekend of October 17-18, raising alarms among UK authorities about a potential spill-over.

Former Metropolitan Police detective Peter Bleksley warned that the unrest could echo the French situation. The images have been widely disseminated on X and TikTok, receiving thousands of likes and sparking debate about a possible Gen Z-led revolt.
