UK consumers urged to stop and return Volta VT40IT treadmills over fire hazard
A safety recall has been issued for the Volta VT40IT Incline Treadmill sold by Fitness Superstore after a fault that can cause overheating and fire.
Trading Standards officials have flagged a critical safety issue with the Volta VT40IT Incline Treadmill, a model stocked by Fitness Superstore. Faulty units, manufactured in China and sold to UK customers from July to November 2025, can overheat and potentially start a fire. The recall targets machines identified by serial numbers containing 50133099.
Consumers are advised to immediately switch off and unplug the treadmill, then verify the serial number on the frame's underside. Fitness Superstore will arrange complimentary pickup and a full refund, or will accept documented local disposal with a signed declaration for reimbursement. The recall was announced under national product safety notification PSD ref: 2608-0247, citing non-compliance with the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.
