UK luxury swimwear label Away That Day enters administration after funding collapse

The UK swimwear brand Away That Day has been placed in administration, resulting in six redundancies after an unsuccessful funding round.

Quantuma has taken joint administration of the UK-based swimwear company Away That Day Limited after the business could not secure further funding in July and August 2026. The brand, launched in 2018 and known for high-end one-piece swimsuits priced over £100, had expanded rapidly into wholesale, securing placements in Selfridges and Harvey Nichols and gaining celebrity exposure through Kendall Jenner. However, geopolitical tensions and broader economic headwinds reduced overseas sales, forcing the company to depend heavily on the domestic market, which accounted for roughly 90% of its online revenue.

The swift wholesale growth increased working-capital requirements and led to mounting interest costs tied to external financing. A pre-packaged sale of selected assets was executed on October 9, 2026, but six staff members were dismissed as part of the restructuring.

Why it matters

The collapse highlights the vulnerability of fast-growing fashion firms to funding shortfalls and shifting global markets.
