UK peer claims Christians face discriminatory treatment amid alleged two-tier justice

Lord Jackson of Peterborough, vice-chair of a parliamentary religious-freedom group, told reporters that Christians in Britain are confronting a "two-tier justice" system that favours other faiths. He pointed to the treatment of Finnish politician Päivi Räsänen, whose electronic travel authorization was revoked and whose visa arrived too late for her to attend a free-speech event in Northern Ireland. Jackson argued that extremist Islamist preachers are permitted to preach publicly, while Christian leaders face street harassment and arrests.

He said allies such as Christian Concern, the Christian Institute and Alliance Defending Freedom International are mobilising legal aid for affected individuals. The peer called for stronger parliamentary safeguards to ensure equal free-speech protections across religions.
