Andy Burnham, who became the United Kingdom's prime minister in July, is scheduled to meet Donald Trump for the first time in person next week. The encounter will take place in New York while the United Nations General Assembly is in session. Both sides are anticipated to discuss pressing issues such as the conflict in Ukraine, stability in the Middle East, and mutual energy interests.

Prior to this, the two leaders exchanged remarks by telephone, and Trump posted on Truth Social that their earlier conversation was "very good" and covered many subjects. The British foreign office and Number 10 have been approached for comment but have not provided details. The meeting marks a new chapter in UK-US diplomatic engagement following Burnham's recent ascent to office.
