UKG CIO claims AI tools generate 8,500 extra work hours monthly

Prakash “PK” Kota left a two-decade tenure at Autodesk to become chief information officer of UKG in April 2025, aiming to diversify his career. Within his first three months he centralized the technology function and, six months later, merged the firm’s ERP and CRM systems onto Microsoft and Salesforce. Leveraging Microsoft, Google’s Gemini and OpenAI’s ChatGPT, UKG has rolled out 387 internal AI applications and more than 12,000 AI agents, making tools like ChatGPT Enterprise and Gemini Enterprise available to its 14,000 employees.

AI-enabled voice and chat agents now autonomously resolve roughly 27% of customer inquiries, while propensity models feed sales teams with buying signals. Kota tracks success through productivity, upselling and sentiment metrics, concluding that AI adds about 8,500 work hours each month. He also promotes a “T3” framework—talent, tools, tokens—to guide balanced AI investment across the organization.
