Ukraine and Lithuania discuss expanded energy aid and joint reconstruction projects

In Lutsk, Prime Minister Koretskyi hosted a Lithuanian delegation, beginning the visit with a stop at Lutsk Castle to honor shared European heritage and Ukrainian defenders. He expressed gratitude for Lithuania's role in the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund and highlighted upcoming direct aid from Lithuanian municipalities to Ukrainian communities, emphasizing its importance for the coming winter. Discussions extended to global food security challenges posed by Russian attacks on Black Sea shipping, support for Ukrainian businesses, and the possible creation of a war-risk insurance mechanism.

The leaders also reviewed projects aimed at assisting veterans, military families, and war-affected civilians. Reconstruction initiatives, particularly in education and healthcare, are being coordinated by Lithuania's CPVA agency, with a goal of delivering tangible results for Ukrainian locals. The meeting builds on President Gitanas Nausėda's recent visit to Ukraine in late August.
