Germany moved to close its Berlin Russian House after attributing an attempted explosive-drone attack at Leipzig/Halle Airport to Russia, also ordering the closure of the Russian consulate in Bonn and expelling Russian staff. Moscow rejected responsibility for the attack and responded by closing the German consulate in St. Petersburg and German cultural institutes in Russia. NATO has described the Leipzig incident as a Russian hybrid attack, underscoring broader concerns about Russian sabotage, cyber-attacks and influence operations.
