Ukraine claims drone strike hits multiple Russian warplanes and refinery

Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) announced a coordinated drone raid on the Rostov-Sentralnyj military airfield in Rostov-na-Donu, claiming hits on an Antonov An-12 transport, two Antonov An-26 transports and three helicopters, followed by a secondary explosion and a sizable blaze. The governor of the Rostov region, Jurij Sljusar, reported that over 50 attacking drones were downed and that the fire was quickly contained, with no deaths or injuries.

In a separate strike, the SBU said a Ukrainian drone damaged an oil refinery in the city of Jaroslavl, about 250 km northeast of Moscow; the refinery suffered damage but no casualties, and the governor Mikhaili Jevrajev confirmed ongoing firefighting efforts. Russian state media have not confirmed any aircraft losses. The SBU stated the operations are part of a systematic campaign against Russian military and strategic infrastructure in response to Russian attacks on Ukrainian territory.
