Ukraine hits Russian drone depot in Oryol, damaging five launchers
Ukrainian forces attacked a Russian facility near Tsymbulova in Oryol Oblast, damaging five drone launchers and setting fire to several storage warehouses.
According to Ukraine's General Staff, a strike was carried out on Sept. 21 against a Russian drone-operation facility near Tsymbulova in Oryol Oblast, roughly 150 kilometers from the Ukrainian frontier. The attack ignited three warehouses storing drones and damaged a launch site for jet-powered strike drones, with five launchers reported as damaged. One outlet was unable to verify the damage independently.
Ukrainian officials said the target was chosen to diminish Russia's capacity to launch attacks on civilian areas in Ukraine. The raid coincided with a wave of Ukrainian attacks on Russian energy sites, including a strike on the Kuibyshev oil refinery in Samara Oblast the following night. Ukraine regularly targets facilities linked to Russia's drone, missile and energy networks to curb Moscow's war-fighting capabilities.
