Ukraine implements 17 of 42 pledged reforms to unlock international aid

In a Telegram briefing, Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi reported that 17 of the 42 reforms tied to international commitments have been put into effect. The government has entered a strict austerity mode, deferring all non-essential outlays, yet acknowledges this is insufficient without external financing. Koretskyi stressed that meeting both governmental and legislative obligations is crucial to unlocking roughly $29.5 billion in aid.
He thanked MPs for recent legislative progress and urged the Verkhovna Rada to convene on October 12 to consider the remaining bills, aiming for completion by October 15. The prime minister warned that any lag threatens Ukraine’s defence, state stability, and capacity to resist Russia.
