Ukraine's 3rd Army Corps recaptures 101 sq km on Lyman front in Vivaldi's fourth phase

Ukraine’s 3rd Army Corps announced it regained 101 square kilometres on the Lyman sector, liberating three villages and inflicting heavy Russian losses.

In the latest push of Operation Vivaldi, Ukraine’s 3rd Army Corps reported recapturing an additional 101 square kilometres on the Lyman front in Donetsk Oblast, including the villages of Zelena Dolyna, Lypove and Kolodiazi. The corps said Russian forces lost roughly 3,000 soldiers during this phase. Brig.

Gen. Andrii Biletskyi stated that the Ukrainian advance stopped the enemy from cutting a vital logistics artery and compelled the “Zapad” group to pull elements of the 1st Tank Army, reducing the assault on Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi. He added that the operation has, to date, freed 16 settlements and 277 square kilometres from Russian control. The fighting continues around the strategic Donbas fortress belt—Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Druzhkivka and Kostiantynivka—critical as winter approaches and Russia prepares for further offensives.

Why it matters

The gains illustrate Ukraine’s momentum in its counteroffensive, weakening Russian positions ahead of winter.
