Ukraine strikes Russian cruise-missile fuel plant in Tver Oblast

Ukrainian forces reportedly attacked the Redkino Experimental Plant in Russia's Tver Oblast, a factory that makes fuel components for Kh-55 and Kh-101 cruise missiles.

Overnight on Oct. 9, Ukrainian forces are said to have launched an attack on the Redkino Experimental Plant in the town of Redkino, Tver Oblast, Russia. The plant supplies fuel components for the Kh-55 and Kh-101 cruise missiles that Russia frequently uses against Ukrainian cities. Telegram channel Exilenova+ reported flashes of explosions and smoke at the site, though Ukrainian military spokespeople have not yet commented and the damage has not been independently verified.

This is the second known strike on the facility, following a February 2026 attack that destroyed thousands of FPV drones. The plant, which also manufactures Decilin-M rocket fuel and additives for diesel and aviation kerosene, is under sanctions imposed by the United States, the United Kingdom and other countries. Russia relies on these missiles for its long-range strikes, making the target a strategic point in the ongoing conflict.

Why it matters

The strike targets a key supplier of fuel for Russian cruise missiles, potentially hindering Moscow's strike capability.
