Ukrainian drones coax Russian soldiers into surrender on the front line

In the ongoing conflict, Ukrainian forces have introduced a new drone tactic that broadcasts surrender instructions to Russian troops, using loudspeakers to urge them to raise their hands and drop weapons. The approach follows a sequence where observation drones locate soldiers, attack drones engage them, and finally a speaker-equipped drone offers the chance to capitulate. According to former defence minister Mykhailo Fedorov, roughly one hundred Russian soldiers surrendered to drones during the previous winter.
Drone operator known as Mayak described seeing Russian fighters trembling and fearing the relentless drone assaults. Ukraine’s “I Want to Live” campaign has released a Russian-language video guiding soldiers on how to make eye contact with a drone and surrender. The development comes as President Vladimir Putin faces mounting pressure, including a call from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a peaceful resolution during a summit in China.
