Ukrainian drones drop four tonnes of food to occupied Oleshky

On September 27, Ukrainian forces carried out a drone operation that dropped around four tonnes of food to Oleshky, a town in Kherson Oblast occupied since February 2022. The Kherson Oblast Military Administration head said the supplies were handed out at roughly 100 locations with assistance from multiple Ukrainian military and police units. The governor noted that Russian troops have attempted to disrupt the missions, shooting down drones and arresting civilians who accept parcels.

Residents have warned that such deliveries could trigger further Russian checks, complicating life in the besieged town. The last successful ground convoy reached Oleshky on May 26; subsequent attempts on June 2 and September 1 were thwarted by Russian drone attacks. Oleshky's population has shrunk dramatically, and humanitarian conditions remain dire.
