Ukrainian drones strike Ozon warehouse and industrial site in Samara, injuring several

Ukrainian drones hit an industrial facility and an Ozon logistics centre in Russia's Samara region overnight, wounding multiple people and halting warehouse operations.

Overnight Ukrainian drone attacks targeted the Samara region of Russia, striking an industrial facility and the Chapayevsk logistics centre of online retailer Ozon, according to Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev. The governor reported that several people were wounded, though he did not identify the industrial site, which lies among multiple oil refineries that have been repeatedly hit. Ozon announced that its warehouse operations were suspended after the strike caused injuries.

This incident marks the first known attack on Ozon after a series of strikes on its larger rival Wildberries, which Kyiv frames as part of a broader campaign against Russian economic infrastructure supporting its war effort. The Russian Defence Ministry claimed to have shot down 457 Ukrainian drones during the same period. The events highlight the widening reach of the conflict into commercial facilities.

Why it matters

The strike shows the conflict extending to Russian commercial assets, disrupting supply chains and signaling broader economic pressure tactics.
