Ukrainian drones topple bridge and derail 28 freight cars in Russia's Bryansk region

Ukrainian forces used drones to attack railway targets in Russia's Bryansk region during the early hours of Monday, causing a bridge segment to collapse and derailing 28 freight wagons, including a separate incident where ten cars left the tracks. Authorities confirmed that no casualties occurred. Russian Railways, through its Moscow Railway subsidiary, suspended traffic on two sections in Bryansk and Kaluga, arranging bus transport for passengers and diverting some trains onto alternative routes.

Interim governor Egor Kovalciuk said the strike hit a line near the Russia-Ukraine-Belarus border. The Russian defence ministry reported shooting down 43 Ukrainian drones that day, and comparable rail attacks have been reported in the region over the past week, underscoring the growing use of drones against logistical infrastructure.
