Since the Russian army seized Kherson in March 2022, Oleksii Sandakov, formerly a lawyer, has turned to documentary filmmaking to capture the daily violence. He rides his bicycle through the city, filming residents confronting the occupiers and the indiscriminate shelling that hits children, the elderly and even buses. Sandakov also highlights the looming threat to nearby Oleschky and unprepared Western Europe. His work aims to expose the scale of the humanitarian crisis caused by the Russian forces.
